Description
Many of us have a photograph we would like to print on fabric and enhance the design with thread but just aren’t sure how to go about it. We will discuss the importance of value in thread selection so the thread augments the fabric and does not blend into the fabric. By the end of the workshop, you will be confident to transfer what you have learned to a photograph of your own. Printing on fabric will also be discussed to enable you to decide how and where to have your fabric printed.
Kit includes:
- Custom printed background fabric
- 1 pc of batting
- How-To color booklet with pictures and instructions
You will also need to bring to class a 7” machine embroidery hoop. If you don’t have a 7″ machine embroidery hoop, you can click this link to add one to your order. For those using 40-weight polyester thread on the upper spindle, Quilterr’s Choice 80-weight Bottom Line thread has been recommended in a dark or light color but is not mandatory. The wrong weight thread in the bobbin can result in an unbalanced tension with the bobbin thread popping to the top threads. But you are learning a technique and the proper bobbin thread can be purchased later. The other products listed are not mandatory for the workshop but can be ordered for future use.
