This workshop introduces you to both thread painting and thread sketching. A preprinted design easily guides you through each step to assure your success right from the start. You will be amazed how a straight and zigzag stitch creates magic right before your eyes. Plus, the process is easy and great fun. And for your convenience, a workshop kit is included in the fee so all you have to do is gather the threads, a 6” hoop and machine notions and you are ready for the workshop.

The videos will demonstrate a 6″ and 7″ hoop. The 6″ hoop is used for the thread painting and the 7″ for sketching. However, if you only want to purchase one hoop, select a 6″ hoop as it can be used for both the thread painting and thread sketching. If you don’t have a 6″ machine embroidery hoop, it can be added when you sign up for the workshop. For those using 40-weight polyester thread on the upper spindle Quilters Select 80 weight thread has been recommended in a dark or light color but is not mandatory. The wrong weight thread in the bobbin can result in an unbalanced tension with the bobbin thread popping to the top threads. But you are learning a technique and the proper bobbin thread can be purchased at a later date.
